Refund policy
Returns & Exchanges — Shimmer and Shawls
We stand behind every item we sell. However, because our inventory includes both authenticated pre-owned luxury pieces and new boutique items, our return policy differs by category. Please read carefully.
Pre-Owned Luxury Items (Designer bags, wallets, and authenticated luxury accessories)
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery and only for the following reasons:
- The item received is not the item ordered
- The item's condition is materially different from the listing description
- The item was damaged in transit
All other return requests will not be accepted.
Returned items must include the original Certificate of Authenticity (COA), dust bag, and all original packaging. Items returned without these will be refused.
Boutique Items (New jewelry and scarves from our curated collection)
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery and only for the following reasons:
- The item received is not the item ordered
- The item is defective or damaged in transit
All other return requests will not be accepted.
Items must be unworn and returned with all original tags and packaging intact.
All Items — General Return Conditions
- All returns require prior written authorization. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.
- Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility, except in cases where the wrong item was sent or the item arrived damaged — in those cases, we will provide a prepaid return label.
- Refunds are processed within 10 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned item, via your original payment method.
- The following are non-returnable under any circumstances: gift cards, final sale items, clearance items, and pre-orders.

Exchanges We do not offer direct exchanges. If your return is approved, you may choose between a refund to your original payment method or store credit to use toward a future purchase.
Refunds We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return and inform you whether the refund has been approved. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method or issued as store credit within 10 business days. Please note it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved, please contact us at customercare@shimmerandshawls.com.
